1. Who We Are
OD Africa is operated by Africa Tech Space (ATS) in partnership with Rift Valley Institute of Business Studies (RVIBS). We are the data controller for the personal information you provide through this platform.

2. What We Collect
When you register or enquire, we collect your name, phone number, email address, county, school or institution, area of interest and consent record. Member accounts require an email address and a securely hashed password.
When you use a member account, we save your opportunity views, career reflection results, course requests, applications and CV reports to build your profile and suggest relevant next steps. Uploaded CVs and application notes are available to you and authorised operational staff. We share an application with a hiring employer only with the consent you provide when applying.
We also collect: your source/campaign, landing page, CTA, and IP address for operational and anti-fraud purposes.
We collect only the minimum information necessary for the stated purpose.
3. Why We Collect It
- To create and manage your OD Africa profile and reference number
- To match you with relevant verified opportunities
- To route your details to the RVIBS Career Portal where you consent
- To follow up on career readiness, course or service enquiries
- To detect and prevent duplicate or fraudulent registrations
- To produce management reporting on programme reach and outcomes
4. Your Consent
We only process your registration data with your explicit consent, which you give by ticking the consent box during registration. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us — see Section 8.
5. Who We Share Your Data With
- RVIBS Career Portal — for career assessment and institutional records, with your consent
- Operational staff — ILO coordinators, registrar and admissions team, for follow-up
- No third-party marketing — we do not sell or share your data for advertising
6. How Long We Keep It
Youth registration records are retained for 3 years from last activity, then anonymised or deleted. Audit logs are retained for 2 years. You may request early deletion — see Section 8.
7. Your Rights
Under the Data Protection Act 2019 you have the right to: access your data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, withdraw consent, and complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).
